Same bones, different heart
You know Essence. The question is what changes when you cross over. Here is the honest table: what we rebuilt, and what we faithfully kept.
The fair-play trinity
Zero pay-to-win
The whole store is convenience and cosmetics.
No RMT
Trades off, one monitored market, gold sellers starved.
No dualboxing
One client per computer, enforced. Your rival is a person.
| Retail Essence | L2EVA | |
|---|---|---|
| Quests | Static, same for everyone | Eva writes them, per player |
| Chat | One language per server | Live-translated across six languages |
| Graphics | DirectX 9, 2004 lighting | Vulkan fork: frame generation, SSAO, modern AA |
| Transmog | Paid, limited | Eva's Mirror full transmog + ornament costumes |
| Ping | One region | Proxies: EU, RU, BR, SG, NA |
| Offline farming | Does not exist | Built in, free for everyone |
| The store | Cash shop sells power | Zero p2w: convenience and cosmetics only |
| Class balance | Dead classes stay dead | Continuous tuning, every class playable |
| Player market | Open trades, RMT plague | Trades disabled, monitored World Exchange only |
| Multiboxing | Box armies welcome | One client per PC, hardware-enforced |
And the full Essence base underneath
Nothing on this page came at the cost of the game you know. We strive to run on the latest Essence patch, on par with official: every retail zone, system, item, skill and class ships here as the base. We did not replace Essence; we built on top of it. And we dug up what the chronicles buried: the Monster Race runs again here, a resurrection Essence itself never got.
The rest of the differences
This table is the short version. The long one is the entire site: the subclass rework, matchmade dungeons, the prison, the Bounty hunts, and everything else on the rail to your left. Or skip the reading:
